TheWorld Of Stardom Championship is a singles championship exclusive to the Japanese professional wrestling promotion Stardom.

History

The title was first introduced on July 24, 2011 at Stardom X Stardom 2011 - Nanae Takahashi 15th Anniversary. The first champion was Nanae Takahashi after defeating Yoko Bito. The only non-Japanese competitor to hold the championship is The Alpha Female. The Alpha Female defeated Takahashi on March 17, 2013 at Stardom The Highest 2013. She held the title a total of 43 days before losing it to Io Shirai on April 29, 2013 at Stardom Ryogoku Cinderella Champions Fiesta 2013. Io Shirai holds two records: being the first to have the most title reigns (currently two), and also being the longest-reigning champion (in her first reign holding the title for 468 days, from April 29, 2013 until August 10, 2014). Shirai regained the title a year later on December 23, 2015 at Stardom Year-End Climax 2015, defeating Meiko Satomura. This marked her second title victory as well the start of her current reign.
