Tahlequah is a city in Cherokee County, Oklahoma. It was established in 1839 as the captial of the Cherokee land following their relocation from the South Eastern United States. Modern day it is the home to two Cherokee tribes, the Cherokee Nation and the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians.
