Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose and Kevin Owens etch another chaotic chapter into their ruthless rivalry when they vie for the coveted title in a Last Man Standing Match at WWE Royal Rumble.
Ambrose defeated Owens at WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs to win the Intercontinental Championship, setting The Prizefighter off in a blind rage in the weeks that followed. Owens savagely attacked Ambrose from behind numerous times, making it clear that his intention was to regain his former title by any means necessary. A championship rematch on the Jan. 7 edition of SmackDown, however, ended in bedlam, as the two Superstars brawled over the barricade and into the WWE Universe, resulting in a double count-out.
That outcome will not be possible at Royal Rumble, when the two warriors will compete in a Last Man Standing Match with the title on the line. The objective in a Last Man Standing Match is to incapacitate your opponent to the point where they cannot stand up to answer a referee’s 10-count. The match continues until one Superstar is no longer able to stand, and the other is crowned Intercontinental Champion.
Will The Lunatic Fringe exact retribution for all of the attacks The Prizefighter has launched his way? Or will Owens re-enter the championship circle by outlasting Ambrose in battle?
