The Ring of Honor (ROH) World Tag Team Championship is the tag team title contested for in the independent professional wrestling promotion Ring of Honor. The title gained world title status after being defended by Austin Aries and Roderick Strong in the Dragon Gate promotion in Japan. Since then the title has also been defended in the United Kingdom.


The ROH Tag Team Championship was introduced at Unscripted on September 21, 2002, where ROH held a tournament to crown the first champions. At the time, ROH did not have actually title belts, and instead presented Christopher Daniels and Donovan Morgan, the winners of the tournament, with a trophy.

The title became the ROH World Tag Team Championship after then champions Austin Aries and Roderick Strong defeated Naruki Doi and Masato Yoshino on July 9, 2006 while on a tour in Japan with Dragon Gate. Since then, the title has also been defended in the United Kingdom.

In 2010 the title belt, along with the ROH World Championship, was redesigned.

In 2012, the title belts were redesigned again, with the company's current logo.

Current champions

The current champions are The Hardy Boyz (Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy). They defeated former champions The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) on March 4, 2017, in Manhattan, New York at ROH Manhattan Mayhem 2017 to win the titles. That same night, the Young Bucks succesfully defended their championship against the team of Lio Rush and Jay White, while the Young Bucks were celebrating their victory, the lights went out and the Hardy Boyz appeared to announce that they signed whit ROH and challenged the Young Bucks for the championships immediately, The Young Bucks accepted the challenge and the Hardy Boyz won the match to win the championships for the first time. Overall, there have been 46 reigns among 50 different wrestlers and 29 different teams.
