Takeover 7 Crews v Breeze

Prince Pretty has been searching for a big win in recent months, but has come up short on several occasions, including losses to Hideo Itami and Finn Bálor. Breeze has demanded world-class competition, which NXT General Manager William Regal is only too happy to provide. Regal brought in the legendary Jushin “Thunder” Liger to face Breeze at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn. Breeze looked to have the legend on the ropes, but his frustration at being unable to put Liger away eventually cost him the match.

Breeze then demanded to be entered into the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, only for Regal to pair him up with Bull Dempsey. Prince Pretty and The New York Nightmare spent more time bickering among themselves than focusing on their first round match, which led to their elimination at the hands of independent scene standouts Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa.

Crews has been on a roll since debuting at the sold-out Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., where he defeated “The Perfect 10” Tye Dillinger. The newcomer is undefeated so far in his NXT career, but will face a tough test in the wily Breeze. Until then, though, Crews is having a little fun rankling the feathers of the easily irritated Prince Pretty.
