NXT Takeover VI - Sasha Banks v Bayley

Bayley is on a quest to prove that she’s among the best NXT has to offer. She’ll face the ultimate test of her skills when she challenges NXT Women’s Champion Sasha Banks at TakeOver: Brooklyn on Saturday, Aug. 22.

The happy-go-lucky Diva had fallen on hard times in recent weeks, being forced out of action with a hand injury inflicted by the ruthless Emma. Bayley returned to the ring in July, getting a measure of payback with a victory over Emma, before issuing a challenge to one of NXT’s most respected competitors, Charlotte. Bayley claimed that if she wanted to be the best, she needed to beat the best.

Charlotte was more than happy to accept the challenge of her friend and former rival. However, she stepped in the ring with a different Bayley than the one she faced at TakeOver: R Evolution last December. Bayley was aggressive from the get-go and took the best Charlotte could throw at her, yet still battled on. After defeating the former champion with a Bayley-to-Belly off the ropes, the jubilant Diva asked NXT General Manager William Regal for the opportunity to challenge Banks. Regal said Bayley was more than deserving, but still had one more test ahead of her.

That test came in the form of a No. 1 Contender’s match against Becky Lynch. Bayley fought valiantly, escaping the Dis-arm-her once and reversing a second attempt into a roll-up to win the match!

Standing in the way of Bayley achieving her dreams is Banks, who has been on a tear since capturing the NXT Women’s Title at TakeOver: Rival in February. The Boss has been dominant in NXT and on the main WWE roster, where she has helped usher in a Divas Revolution as part of Team B.A.D. with Naomi and Tamina. She has experience performing on a huge stage, just like the sold-out Barclays Center will be on Aug. 22. Can she use it to her advantage?
