History
2010
Early on, Vickie Guerrero has had interactions with the two members individually. On February 4, 2010, Jack Swagger, who was champion at the time, flirted back and forth with Vickie, ultimately kissing her before going out to make his address as the world heavyweight champion. Lay-Cool concurred with Vickie that Swagger was "going to make a great champion".
Vickie later entered into a romantic relationship with Dolph Ziggler beginning June 18..
Dolph accompanied Vicky on NXT season 3, flirting with her Rookie Kaitlyn, and Vicky got back at him by flirting with his rookie Jacob Novak on season 4.
Vickie stayed with Dolph as he went on to win the Intercontinental Championship, and defended it for the remainder of the year.
2011
In early 2011, Ziggler won a contest to replace his loser rookie Novak with the more successful Byron Saxton (who was smart enough not to hit on Vicky). Ziggler then lost his IC title to Kofi Kingston, but the same night won a #1 contender's spot to face Vicky's ex-husband Edge for the World title.
Initially unsuccessful, Vicky used her position as assistant GM to help Dolph win the title by banning Edge's "spear". Edge won the title back with Teddy Long's return (he had been assaulted in his office by Ziggler) and Dolph was then out of the champion picture as ADR took forefront, and Dolph was fired from Smackdown.
Both Swagger and Dolph were drafted from Smackdown to Raw(Ziggler had no choice but to move to Raw as he was fired from Smackdown.) in the 2011 Draft. After moving from Smackdown to Raw, Ziggler chose to revise his relationship with Vicky to "strictly professional", ending their romance. Though both began to flirt with others more freely, some subtle chemistry remained.
After Jack Swagger suggested to Guerrero that she should manage him in addition to Ziggler, a jealous Ziggler teased tension with Swagger. This, coupled with Ziggler's concurrent feud with Alex Riley, led to Ziggler to defend and retain his United States Championship in a fatal four-way match against Swagger, Riley, and John Morrison at Night of Champions.. At the pay-per-view, Swagger and Ziggler were unsuccessful in winning the title.

Added by TornadoawesomeOn the September 19 episode of Raw, Guerrero agreed to manage Swagger. As a result, Swagger and Ziggler formed an alliance, with Swagger helping Ziggler retain his championship. At both the Hell in a Cell and Vengeance pay-per-views, Swagger and Ziggler unsuccessfully challenged Air Boom (Evan Bourne and Kofi Kingston) for the WWE Tag Team Championship.
On the December 26 episode of Raw, Ziggler defeated WWE Champion CM Punk in a gauntlet match for a championship opportunity following interference from John Laurinaitis.
Breakup
2012
The following Raw, Ziggler defeated CM Punk by countout after John Laurinaitis interfered again; as a result, Ziggler did not win the championship. At the 2012 Royal Rumble pay-per-view, Ziggler failed to capture the WWE Championship from CM Punk. At the Elimination Chamber, Ziggler, along with The Miz, R-Truth, Kofi Kingston, and Chris Jericho, failed to capture the WWE Championship from CM Punk. On the February 27 edition of Raw, Ziggler and Swagger unsuccessfully challenged Primo and Epico for the WWE Tag Team Championship in a Triple Threat tag team match, also involving Kofi Kingston and R-Truth.
On the January 16, 2012, episode of Raw, Swagger won the WWE United States Championship by defeating Zack Ryder. At Elimination Chamber, Swagger successfully defended his title against Justin Gabriel. On the February 27 edition of Raw, Swagger and Ziggler unsuccessfully challenged Primo and Epico for the WWE Tag Team Championship in a Triple Threat tag team match, also involving Kofi Kingston and R-Truth. After two more title attempts against Kofi and R-Truth, Ziggler told Vickie he wanted to become a singles star after watching Randy Orton RKO The Miz. The following Smackdown, he introduced himself instead of having Vickie do it, showing that American Perfection is disbanded.
The stable was named American Perfection via Twitter from Vickie Guerrero on March 3, 2012. It states "Do not miss Smackdown, and I see my team in action, this will be pure American Perfection".
