Summary[]
With only days until challenging Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett on the WrestleMania 29 Interactive Pre-Show, there was no rest for the awesome as The Miz battled The Prime Time Players in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match on WWE Main Event.
WrestleMania 29 will start this Sunday at 6 p.m. ET with an explosive Pre-Show featuring The Miz battling Wade Barrett for the prestigious Intercontinental Championship. The Awesome One has crossed paths with The Barrett Barrage a number of times over the past few weeks with their most intense confrontations coming on ION Television.
The star of “The Marine 3: Homefront” faced a daunting challenge on WWE Main Event, however, with his high-stakes WrestleMania 29 Pre-Show bout looming — a Handicap Match against The Prime Time Players. With Barrett joining Michael Cole and JBL in The Awesome One's role as WWE Main Event commentator, The Miz looked to seize the opportunity to send The Bare-Knuckle Brawler a clear message before they battle on The Grandest Stage of Them All.
Although the odds were clearly stacked against The Awesome One, he gave Barrett one last up-close look at his resilience in the face of adversity. The Prime Time Players did their best to use teamwork to overpower The Miz, but the former WWE Champion turned the tables by knocking the powerful Titus O’Neil out of the ring before locking Darren Young in the Figure-Four Leglock to pick up the victory.
The Awesome One and The Intercontinental Champion exchanged glares and a few harsh words during and after the contest — certainly ready to do battle on the WrestleMania 29 Pre-Show on WWE.com, the WWE App, Facebook.com/WWE and YouTube.com/WWE this Sunday at 6 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.
